It seems the Conservative Party is of the opinion that local people are not sure how to spell Camborne.
The branch has set up a new website in order to allow local electors to keep up to date with what it is doing.
However those behind the website have not only spelt the name of Camborne correctly they have also given people the chance of finding the site by spelling it incorrectly - Cambourne.
Last week the Labour party member for the constituency, Candy Atherton, had a good old fashioned dig at her Conservative opponents pointing out that the branch website had spelt Camborne with the 'U' on a number of occasions.
The Conservative branch, including their prospective candidate Ashley Crossley were quick to point out that the site had gone live before it had been checked. The blame for the incorrect spelling was placed clearly on staff in Tory party headquarters in London.
In a new twist this week Quentin Peck on behalf of the Falmouth and Camborne branch said two domain names had been registered - with and without the correct spelling.
"There has been some comment in the media that the website does not spell the name of the constituency correctly. After investigating this issue with Central Office we have been informed by their technology department that the search engine is programmed to direct people to our site with Camborne spelled correctly and with a 'u' inserted in the name.
"This is apparently standard practice and we will be using both these domain names as it ensures people using the internet are easily directed to our site."
