A SIX month industrial dispute came to an end yesterday (Wednesday, January 22) when workers at Phoenix Engineering accepted a pay deal worth a total of 6.2 per cent.
GMB union members voted to call off strike action, accepting a 3.2 per cent pay rise offered by Phoenix last August, plus a further 3.2 per cent rise in advance of this August's annual pay review.
Neither side of the dispute could claim outright victory following months of strikes.
For interviews with both sides see the News, Wednesday January 28).
