The 28,000 ton passenger ferry Pride of Aquitaine arrives this morning from Dover for the start of her annual refit at the docks.
The vessel will berth on the Queens jetty until the Portsmouth ferry Pride of Bilbao is undocked from the Queen Elizabeth dry-dock today or tomorrow. Originally built as the Prins Filip for the Belgian state operator RMT for the Dover-Ostend route she is one of the largest ferries operating on the Dover-Calais service.
The A&P Group is busy with ferry refits at all their major yards. A&P Birkenhead is currently working on the giant ferry Ulysses and the Merchant Bravery. The Tyne division is handling the Pride of Provence and Pride of Bruges. At Southampton the Pride of Cherbourg, once a regular caller here is dry-docking.
