A scheme to crack down on crime is to be launched at a university campus in Devon.

The University of Plymouth and Devon & Cornwall Police have agreed new protocols which set out the rules allowing police access to the city campus.

The two organisations are also to agree new ways of pooling information in a bid to cut criminal activity in and around the campus.

They have set out a partnership agreement which also sets out the responsibilities of the campus-based University Liaison Officer PC Maxine Reid, who on crime prevention and education.

Officials from the university and the police force are due to sign the agreement at the University's North Hill campus.

Professor Peter Evans, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Resources), at the University of Plymouth said: 'We aim to support the Police, and with their help to provide a safe environment for our staff, students, visitors and the local community'.
