Chard'S sewers are at risk of overflowing and there's hundreds more houses to come onto the system - those were the concerns of town councillors this week.
Council members repeated worries about sewage provision in Chard at their meeting on Monday night (January 19) after problems in the town over the Christmas period.
They have called for a meeting with Wessex Water, South Somerset District Council and Somerset County Council over the issue, and also want the water regulator OFWAT and the Environment Agency involved.
They want to know what plans are in the pipeline for sewers in Chard, especially as 1,600 new homes could be built in the town in the next ten years.
