TWO Mid Devon men have been jailed for a night of violence among the drug community on a Cullompton estate.
At Exeter Crown Court, 30-year-old Nicholas Dymond, of St Andrews Estate, Cullompton, and 37-year-old Stephen Dunn, of McKenzie Way, Tiverton, were jailed for 15 months.
And the victims have been placed under police protection and moved from the area because of threats made against them.
Passing the prison sentences, Judge Stephen O'Malley said the serious aspect of the case was that the victims were in their own home at the time of the violence. The court heard that one of them was threatened with a carving knife and attacked with a carving fork and his wife was hit over the head with a kettle. Prosecutor Michael Brabin said those connected with the incident were all involved in the drug culture.
