Plans to covert the former Nine Maidens School near Four Lanes into a residential unit for 10 to 18-year-olds with difficulties, has caused uproar.
More than 20 residents from the village crowded into a village hall on Monday when Wendron parish councillors held their meeting.
The plan has been submitted by the county council and has yet to go before district planners. Objectors say they had little warning about the scheme and want more time to discuss it.
Wendron councillors said they would discuss the matter fully next month.
