MEMBERS of a village playing field committee have been branded 'dictators' after refusing a request for a skate park by local teenagers.
An investigation into the openness and accountability of the Tatworth Playing Field Committee is to be undertaken by a member of the public who attended Tatworth and Forton Parish Council meeting, last week.
The parish council are backing a request by teenagers to site a skate ramp at the field, but according to councillors the playing field committee won't play ball, calling the sport a 'fad'.
In a letter to the parish council, secretary Keith Marks said: "A skate park is not in the best interests of the playing field or the village in general."
