YOUNG people in Ilminster are to form their own council to develop youth friendly proposals and give teenagers a better image.
The initiative follows the success of a campaign to get a skate park in the town, supported by lobbying from young people.
Teenagers have also made the move to show that young people have pride in their town, according to grown-up district councillor Kim Turner.
"They are working to achieve similar results to what they did with the skate park. They would like to see other things done in the town to help young people," Cllr Turner said.
