A MOBILE police station is set to visit villages in the Wellington area next month.
The Community Policing Unit calls at towns and villages in Somerset on six days a week.
The unit's two full-time community contact officers, Denise Day and Anne Stoneham, have over 30 years' experience between them.
Denise said: "The CPU has been well-received in rural communities and provides an invaluable service. We offer most of the facilities of a local police station.
"We're not here to replace a community beat manager but to assist them and provide an additional service to the public.
"People can call in with concerns or to report incidents. We offer crime prevention advice, take details of lost and found property, deal with production of driving documents and any other general enquiries people may have."
On Tuesday, February 10, the CPU will be at Othery from 2.30pm to 4pm and Adsborough from 4.30pm to 6pm.
