WELLINGTON firefighters who climbed three of Britain's highest peaks in a single day have handed over their final fund-raising total.

The £1,349.78 cheque was presented to staff from the children's unit at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital on Tuesday evening.

Adrian Corby, Mike Beal, Dave Thomas and Kevin Bowden climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Snowdon in Wales in the 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge.

Back up and transport was provided by Nigel Davy and Colin Shepherd.
