A MUM has slammed a playground in Highbridge as 'a Jamie Bulger case waiting to happen' after youngsters complained of strange men hanging around the area.
Sally Gilroy, 33, of East Avenue, is concerned for the welfare of her three children, Ryan 11, Jordan nine and Sophie, five, who play at Apex Park.
She told the Weekly News her children regularly saw "undesirable characters" at the park - and is now calling on the authorities to install CCTV cameras to stop a child being hurt.
She said "With that Jamie Bulger case, a lot of people said if only someone had stepped in and said what is going on, that boy might still be alive today. It just needs one person to shout out and I am not afraid to be that person. Quite a lot of the children are coming home and saying there is a man they don't like the look of in there - there are known paedophiles in this area."
