PENRYN town council has received a reply to a letter it sent to local MP Candy Atherton regarding the loss of the town's last National Health Service dentist.
In her letter, Ms Atherton said she has written to the Government minister responsible for dentistry, Rosie Winterton, highlighting the lack of NHS dentists in the area.
She hoped to have a meeting in the near future to talk about providing incentives to bring NHS dentists into the area.
"I think we should follow it up," said Coun Mary May "not just let sleeping dogs lie."
Mrs May suggested that there might be room for a dentist on Jubilee Wharf once the development there goes ahead.
Councillors noted the information.
