BUDDING town planners at Constantine School were given a chance to build their own town from scratch as part of their studies.
But the materials involved were not bricks and mortar but that perennial children's favourite Lego.
Starting with a single house the children, from years three and six, built a complete town as part of their design technology course.
The end results were a town complete with roads, shops, schools and factories in the middle of the school hall. Unfortunately the whole town then had to be demolished so the children could sit down to have school dinners.
"They did an excellent job," said course tutor and assistant head Miss Caroline Cheshire.
