THE West Cornwall Table Tennis League season has now restarted after the Christmas break.

Martha Travis made her debut for England u12's verses Wales where she was unbeaten in her three games and helped England to an 8-2 win. Martha plays her table tennis for Bridge Club, who also provide the first player of the month, Georgina Credland.

The second player of the month goes to Andrew Cooper of People's Palace J - Andrew playing in the league for his first season, remains unbeaten in the Third Division.

On the domestic front, Bridge A have put clear water between them and St Austell A by beating Mylor Bridge A 10-0. Alan Brobson made sure they had to work for their points.

Redruth A hosted a full strength St Ives side, with the return of Wayne Vincent from his recent trip to South Africa. John Bassett was unbeaten for the fishing port with Wayne and Mike Fisher winning two each. Austin Chapman and Bernard Harvey gained one point each and the doubles for Redruth - resulting in a 7-3 win for St Ives.

In the First Division, Bridge B entertained Godolphin. The Helston side consisted of Colin Morris, Steve Gilbert and the inspirational John Eddy. John led Mike Credland and Lisa Reed a merry dance. It was left to Chris Solway to tread the light fantastic and leave Godolphin in a spin to gain a hat-trick. Chris was partnered in the doubles against Colin and John by Mike and the pair waltzed to victory and a draw.

Falmouth Docks C gained a 6-4 win over People's Palace C to leave them very much in contention for honours. Kevin Fudge was the star not only for standing in for the injured Jeremy Williams but for winning all his games. Jeremy Hartley won two and the doubles with Kevin, and Yaina Andrew was very unlucky in her three games.

The Second Division is turning into a real dog fight as to who will accompany People's Palace F into the First Division. Mylor Bridge played the top side Mylor, losing a very close match 6-4. Gordon Hoyes and Mark Thomas were unbeaten for the evening until it came to the doubles, where they were hammered by Sam Sloggett and John Everton.

Andrew Cooper was called up to play his first game in the Second Division and help his side People's Palace G to a draw against Redruth D. He won two games, as did Peter Filer. For Redruth, Karim Ali and Simon Hosking won two each and the doubles. Howard Martin got the other of Palace's points.

In the Third Division Mylor Bridge C are on the heels of People's Palace J following their 9-1 defeat oF Bridge C. Ken Norcross, Al Heuston and John Martinez will continue to niggle away to the bitter end. Ryan Reed won the single point for Bridge.
