WENDRON Football Club has announced that their current Jolly's Combination League managerial combination, manager Stuart Wilkes and assistant Nick Seviour, are to stand down at the end of the season.
The two managers, who have resurrected the fortunes of the Jolly's Combination League side, had told the club several months ago that they may not want to stay beyond two seasons.
That decision was confirmed at Monday night's club meeting.
"The demands of running a side such as Wendron means that you are involved for six or seven days a week," said Stuart Wilkes.
"Nick and I had talked about it and felt it was only fair to tell the club of our decision in good time so that they could prepare for next season. We couldn't give the job the commitment it requires, especially as we both have other things we would like to do.
"I have been playing football every Saturday since I was 10 and I feel I need to give more time to family commitments.
"I have several things which I would like to do outside football which are less demanding.
"Nick and I would like to thank Wendron for providing us with the opportunity to 'cut our teeth' in management. It's been a great experience."
