A WOMAN and her baby had to be rescued from a car by firefighters after getting stuck on a ford across the River Clyst in Plymtree, near Cullompton, on Monday.
A Cullompton fire crew attended the scene at around 10am and safely removed the pair. The car was later pulled out of the flood water by tractor.
The Environment Agency issued a flood warning for the River Lowman in Tiverton on Monday, which has since been altered to a flood watch.
With more wet and windy weather on the way, residents are being urged to be aware of full rivers, wet ground and unsettled weather.
