WATCHET'S East Wharf developers Dean and Dyball have been dropped after West Somerset District Council lost patience with them.

The company which constructed the town's £5.1 million marina had asked for the council's agreement for a joint venture partner to the project but the request was rejected by members of the council's cabinet when they met on Monday.

The cabinet concluded that in the circumstances it was apparent that negotiations with Dean and Dyball had reached an impasse, effectively bringing to an early end a period of exclusivity during which the council had agreed not to negotiate with any other prospective developer.
