Helston town councillors have agreed to set their precept for the coming financial year at £110,000 - exactly the same figure as last year.
The precept - the amount the town council levies from Kerrier district council for its own projects and costs - rose by 3.5 per cent last year and by just over three per cent the year before that.
Projected expenditure for the coming year is £135,000 - just under £2,000 more than the amount the council is expected to have spent by the end of the current financial year on March 31.
Considering the budget for 2004/5 at a meeting last week, members approved the draft figures presented to them, including the sum of £5,000 earmarked for new play equipment and a further contribution of £200 towards a town council website.
