GOOD standards of sheltered housing in Alcombe have been recognised, after being put under the spotlight by a team of inspectors from the National Care Standards Commission (NCSC).
The extra-care-housing scheme at Silvermead in Alcombe, which is owned and managed by Magna West Somerset Housing Association, has been awarded a coveted registration certificate.
MWS also provides domiciliary care at Ingrams Meadow, Watchet, where a similar registration process is taking place.
Both Silvermead and Ingrams Meadow offer an alternative to residential care.
The additional services give residents the assistance and care they need whilst allowing them to maintain their independence.
MWS Supported Housing Manager Barbara Mullan, said that management and staff are delighted with the results of the registration process.
