RESIDENTS at Donyatt were photographing floods around The Almshouses when Environment Agency officials rang to warn them they were at risk from heavy rain - an hour too late.
"It was the first time the Environment Agency has rang us this year to say we were liable to get flooded," said villager Gerald Compton.
"But they were too late with their warning."
The River Isle from Chard Reservoir to Hambridge was moved to flood warning status by the Environment Agency on Monday morning (January 12), meaning flooding was likely to affect homes, businesses or main roads.
A few days earlier, motorists were caught out by floods. For a full round up and pictures, see the News on Wednesday (January 14).
