The golfing year for Praa Sands Golf Club members started on New Year's Day with the traditional "putters off the tee" at noon.
Helen Carson, Alan Nicholls and David Phillips shared the spoils with four strokes each. The Triathlon followed with Mark Prisk winning the trophy closely followed by runner-up Chris Cox-Webber.
Sunday saw the qualifying round of the Barry Mounter Trophy take place with net scores ranging from 56 to 64 the following pairs going on to the knockout stage:-

Next week there is a Monday to Friday Stableford. The first quiz of 2004 will take place on Friday, 9th. The ladies will play a Stableford on Saturday and round one of the Barry Mounter Knockout Trophy will be held on Sunday.
Birthday greetings to Andrew Phillips who celebrates his 21st birthday on January 12.
