Traffic diversions will be put in place when roadworks get underway in Paignton this month.
Major carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing will be carried out in Torquay Road, between Kings Road and Langs Road.
The scheme will start on Monday 19 January and is expected to take three weeks. Paignton-bound traffic will be diverted along Preston and Paignton seafronts as Torquay Road will be closed to Paignton-bound traffic at Paris Road.
The Manor Corner junction will be closed to traffic for the duration of the works, other than for Torquay-bound traffic which will be allowed to progress straight through the junction.
Carriageway resurfacing will also be carried out in Brixham Road at the Borough Road junction. This will start on Wednesday 21 January and will take four days. Temporary three-way lights will be in place, and road users are advised to take alternative seafront routes as delays are likely.
Councillor Colin Charlwood, Executive Member for Environment Services on Torbay Council, said: 'Unfortunately, schemes like these inevitably cause some traffic disruption, and we are sorry for any inconvenience. However, it is essential we carry out such work to ensure that heavily used roads like this are maintained in good condition for the safety of all road users.
'In order to minimise disruption to road users, the works will be completed as early as possible.'
