The body of a teenage girl who was reported missing just after Christmas has been found in a derelict house in Wiltshire, police have said.
Katie Walsh, 16, from Highworth near Swindon was reported missing from home by her parents on December 27.
Wiltshire Police said today that a body of a teenage girl, which was later confirmed to be that of Katie, was found at an address in Manchester Road, Swindon on January 4.
A spokeswoman said: 'The house was insecure and unoccupied and it's believed that it was being used as a squat.'
She said the death was not being treated as suspicious but police are now appealing for anyone who saw Katie before she died to come forward so they can piece together the sequence of events leading up to the death.
The coroner has been informed.
