FUNDRAISERS from Mylor Yacht Club ended their year with the presentation of a cheque to the Royal Cornwall Hospital's Scout and Guide unit following a successful panto run.
The club's pantomime this year, "The Good, The Bad and Me 'Ansome", raised money for several charities from their four nightly performances and the 1st St Piran Unit were presented with a cheque for £50.
The money will be used towards the cost of materials and other resources used to enable children in hospital to take part in the unit's weekly sessions.
Steve Nicholls, club commodore, said: "Everyone involved in the production were unanimous in wanting the money raised to go towards local organisations involving young people. As a result we've been able to make donations not only to 1st St Piran but also to Mylor Scouts, Brownies and Guides as well as Devoran Gig Club."
Anne Ramsden, scout leader and "Spotty Dick", one of the three baddies in the pantomime, added: "The 1st St Piran Unit continues to be a great success, offering free membership to youngsters whilst they are in hospital. We are delighted to receive donations to support the purchase of materials and resources for them to use whilst enjoying similar activities to any community based scout or guide unit."
