The chairman of the Jolly's Drinks Cornwall Cricket League, Jan Vatcha, has died at the age of 60.

He died suddenly at his home at Townshend near Hayle. He had been receiving regular health treatment in recent years.

He took over from Keith Davis as league chairman in 2002 having succeeded Syd Trembath as vice-chairman and Western Section chairman in 1999. He was a representative of the league on the Cornwall Cricket Board.

One of his last duties was to attend a meeting of Premier League chairmen at Lord's on behalf of the Cornwall League.
