FAN-TASTIC! Two members of Yeovil Town FC's ladies team were given an amazing surprise at the weekend when they got to meet their heroes from Liverpool.

The ladies team boss, John Flatters, knew that two of his players, Jasmin Reed and Kayleigh Nardiello, would love to meet the Anfield stars as they were both mad Liverpool supporters.

So not long after the FA Cup Third Round draw which saw Yeovil Town paired at home with Liverpool, former Preston School sports teacher John wrote to Anfield to see if a surprise meeting could be arranged.

And John said: "Liverpool were great and agreed to me taking Jasmin and Kayleigh out to Cricket St Thomas where they were staying the night before the match.

"The girls, both big Liverpool fans, were pretty nervous as the players such as Emile Heskey, Danny Murphy and Sami Hyypia came in and chatted to them and signed their shirts."

Some football supporters were probably disappointed that Liverpool's star striker Michael Owen was absent from the line-up for the big match at Huish Park on Sunday afternoon.

But John said: "I could have told you Saturday night that Owen wouldn't play because he wasn't at the hotel - but I was sworn to secrecy!"
