THE main talking point in the media the day after the cup match was an accusation levelled at Liverpool's Australian star Harry Kewell that he had won a penalty for the Premiership millionaires by diving in the box.

Referee Neale Barry pointed at the spot after Kewell went down theatrically under a challenge from Yeovil's giant 6ft 8in defender Hugo Rodrigues.

The Yeovil cult hero said: "To be fair I don't think it was a penalty and I spoke with Kewell at the time and said 'Why are you diving?' He said: 'I have to do that.'

"It's not right, but the referee gave it so that's the end of the story."

Television replays showed that Rodrigues made very little, if any, contact and that the decision to award a penalty - which was converted by Danny Murphy in the 77th minute to put Liverpool 2-0 up - was wrong.

Yeovil supporters claimed afterwards, however, that it showed how worried Liverpool were that they had to 'cheat' to ensure victory.

Kewell's dive was not the first incident of its kind during the match as Liverpool's El-Hadji Diouf was booked for diving by the referee.
