LIVERPOOL boss Gerard Houllier intimated in the build-up to the big match that Yeovil Town were not showing his Premiership all-stars enough respect.
The under-pressure Anfield manager hinted that Liverpool were not at all happy with comments attributed to the Glovers as the countdown to the game went on.
Houllier said: "Our players respect the opposition more than the opposition respect us at the moment.
"Respect is one of our most important values - whatever team we play. Whether it is in Europe or England we always give our opponents the respect they deserve.
"I understand why there is a fuss about this game, but my players will be up for it physically and mentally."
But Yeovil manager Gary Johnson said that he and his players had acted professionally in the build-up and claimed that some comments had been exaggerated by the national media.
