POLICE have launched a rape inquiry in Creech St Michael following an attack on a 15-year-old local girl on Monday night.
The incident took place at about 9pm on the canal bridge as the girl walked from the Bell Inn direction.
Police sealed off the area for forensic examinations and have appealed for help in tracing the attacker.
He is described as white, aged 40-50, 5ft 10in tall, with close cropped hair and wrinkles around his eyes and was wearing a black or dark blue T-shirt.
