A 60-year-old Devon grandfather has donated his 75th pint of blood to the National Blood Service.
The service estimated that Monty Perry, of Ottery St Mary, could have saved up to 225 people with the blood he has given over the last 36 years.
Mr Perry was given an emerald award badge by the service to mark an achievement reached by only three per cent of donors.
Mr Perry said there were up to 200 blood donors in the Ottery St Mary area and he appealed for more people to come forward.
