The Pilgrims cruised to a 7-0 win over Roy McFarland's struggling Chesterfield at Home Park on Saturday, scoring their first five goals in 18 minutes, with midfielder David Friio putting away a hat-trick.
Lee Hodges opened Argyle's account on 4 minutes and Tony Capaldi made it two on 11 minutes. A minute later Nathan Lowndes made it three, before Friio put away his first on 15 minutes, and Lowndes doubled his tally on 18.
Friio then made it 6-0 on 36 minutes, before completing his tally two minutes from time with Plymouth only scoring once in the second half.
The win keeps them at the top of the table, with QPR still sitting four points behind them in second place.
