A TAUNTON woman has died after being stabbed, allegedly during an argument with her boyfriend on Christmas Day.
Catherine Hazel Campbell, 43, was on holiday in the tropical paradise resort of Vagator, Goa, sothern India, with Adrian Duggan of Gwent.
Soon after they returned from a Christmas Eve party at 4am, the landlady of the guest house where they were staying heard screams from the couple's room and called police.
Officers broke the door down to discover Ms Campbell lying dead in a pool of blood. Her wounds appeared to have been caused by a pair of scissors.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office confirmed that a police investigation was ongoing and officers would be speaking to Mr Duggan about the incident in due course.
As the Somerset County Gazette went to press there was no news of when Ms Campbell's body would be flown home to the UK.
