The country's biggest football tournament for girls and boys - the Coca-Cola National Schools Cup - has been giving schoolkids all across England the chance to compete in their very own "FA Cup" and Truro School's u13s now have the chance to play at one of the top Premiership grounds in the country.

Run jointly with the English Schools Football Association (ESFA), the Coca-Cola National Schools Cup for under 13 boys and girls is now entering its second year with over 2,200 school teams and 37,500 kids taking part.

The tournament follows a similar knock-out format to that of the FA Cup, and youngsters are given a dream opportunity to play on Premiership pitches in the final stages of the competition.

In the boys' competition the final was between Truro School and Callington Community College. In what was a closely contested final both teams played some excellent football with the lead changing, but in the end it was Truro School who ended up winning the final by two goals to one.

Liskeard School came up against Newquay Tretherras School in the girls' final and emerged 3-0 winners.

The winners now march on to the South West Schools Cup where they will face other county winners from across the South West. They have now secured themselves a place in the next stage of this unique tournament.

The winner from the Somerset County Cup will be promoted into the South West Schools Cup where they will compete against other county cup winners across the region and contest for the dream-come-true opportunity to play at the home of Southampton FC in the SW Schools Cup Finals at St Mary's Stadium.

A win there will put the teams into the national finals which this year will be played at Chelsea FC's Stamford Bridge.
