Police will be out in force at the city's nightspots this New Year's Eve as they attempt to crack down on people spiking drinks with drugs.
Officers will be out with sniffer dogs in an effort to catch people trying to smuggle the notorious "date rape" drugs into Truro's pubs and clubs.
The crackdown follows several people contacting police saying they have been victims of the drugs, which are used to sedate victims before a sexual assault takes place.
PC Baxter Provan said: "It must be a double-edged attack, not only by the police but by partygoers themselves.
"People must take responsibility for themselves and be aware of their drinks and what's going on around them in order to ensure they and their friends enjoy themselves safely," he said.
More than 20 officers were involved in a similar operation which took place just before Christmas at Truro's L2 nightclub.
Police searched 20 people during the last operation but found no one carrying the "date rape" drugs.
