BURNHAM and Highbridge residents are likely to face a significant rise in the council tax next year - despite only a tiny increase in the cash being demanded by their town council.
Somerset County Council is expected to sanction a 6.5 per cent hike in the unpopular charge - although the rise could end up being more than double that figure.
The authority is currently considering its options, with a decision expected early in the New Year.
