PLANNERS have given proposals to extend and enhance four schools in the Falmouth area the go-ahead.
Penryn Junior and Infant Schools, Mylor Bridge School and Constantine School will each undergo a major revamp in the New Year.
At Penryn Junior School an extension to the entrance of the building will provide two new offices and a lobby area.
In the courtyard to the east of the school a further extension will provide a classroom, store and special needs room.
To the rear of the school an existing classroom will be increased in size.
At neighbouring Penryn Infant School, an extension to the eastern side will create two new classrooms, a library, cloakrooms, toilets and a link corridor.
In the school grounds a hard play area will be reinstated, car parking will be enhanced and off-site highway improvements will be made.
At Mylor Bridge School an extension to the rear of the school will provide two new classrooms, a practical area, staff room and information technology room.
A new entrance lobby will be built at the front of the school and a chair store will be added to the main hall.
In the playground a hard court area will be created and car parking will be enhanced.
Constantine School will have one new classroom added to the eastern side of the building, along with a practical area, storage, cloakroom, toilets, staff room, special educational needs room, office, lobby and corridors.
A further classroom will be provided on the western side of the school, along with practical area, cloakroom, toilets, and storage area.
A hard court area will be added to the grounds and parking will be enhanced.
A date has not been set for the start of the works.
