THE main shopping streets of Falmouth were packed on Christmas Eve as the Cornish Christmas Harmony Choir made its way through town.
There were more people joining in the event than ever before and more than £1,000 was raised for local charities.
Organiser Sheila Abbot said: "It was marvellous. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed it."
The 120 strong choir started at Custom House Quay before making their way to Church Corner where the crowd filled the street spilling onto the steps alongside the church where they were five deep.
Bruce Gilbert, who also helps organise the event, said: "I've never seen so many people at Church Corner."
It was the same outside the Grapes pub and when the choir finally reached the Seven Stars the crowd blocked off the taxi rank and almost filled the piazza.
The £1,059.93 raised will be shared out among the Cornwall Air Ambulance, the Falmouth branch of the Stroke Club and King Charles Mummers.
The cheque presentations will take place at a special night at Falmouth Rugby Club on February 19.
