Parents in Pool are being warned to keep their children away from a derelict house after a fire on Sunday left the building extremely unsafe.
Officers from Kerrier district council are now trying to establish who owns the property on Dudnance Lane so that work can start to make the area safe.
Police Inspector Andy Wagon said: "The building is in a very dangerous state and we would appeal to parents to keep their children away from the property. It may collapse at any time."
Camborne firefighters were called to the unoccupied house, situated opposite South Crofty mine, at 2pm after arsonists again set fire to the derelict property.
Insp Wagon said the house had been the scene of many fires over the years.
Police informed the council of the dangerous state of the building on Monday and an environmental services officer made an immediate inspection.
A spokesman for the district council, David McGuire, said: "We are trying to establish the owner of the property as soon as possible and then to quickly take steps to make it safe."
