NOW that the dust has settled and the supporters of Yeovil Town FC look forward to launching a new life in the Football League, perhaps thoughts do tend to drift back to the non-league game - the game that has helped to make the Glovers famous throughout the football world.
While we all eagerly await locking horns with teams in the Nationwide League Division Three, you cannot feel a slight tinge of sadness about leaving the non-league scene behind - something Yeovil has been involved with for the past 108 years.
Here Express chief reporter and soccer writer Steve Sowden takes a nostalgic look back through the Glovers' archives with some of their most notable achievements and moments.
1895-1900
1895 - Yeovil Casuals FC were formed with a ground at Pen Mill.
1897 - Yeovil Casuals won the Somerset Senior League.
1901-1910
1901 - Yeovil Casuals made a bid to use a field at Huish for its new headquarters.
1904 - Petters United were formed and joined the Yeovil and District League.
1907 - Yeovil Casuals were scrapped and replaced by Yeovil Town FC.
1909 - Yeovil Town saw their match abandoned with Boscombe because the referee did not like being shouted at by the crowd!
1911-1920
1914 - There was talk of Yeovil Town merging with Petters United.
1915-18 - Football ceased because of the First World War.
1920 - Yeovil and Petters United played their first ever game at Huish.
1921-1930
1923 - Yeovil and Petters United joined the Southern League.
1927 - Yeovil and Petters United player Johnny Hayward retired after 20 years of service and scorer of around 550 goals.
1931-1940
1934 - Yeovil and Petters United beat Crystal Palace in the FA Cup First Round.
1935 - Yeovil and Petters United lost 6-2 at home to Liverpool in the FA Cup Third Round.
1939 - Yeovil and Petters United drew 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup Third Round, before losing the replay 2-1.
1941-50
1945 - Once the Second World War had finished, the name of Petters United is dropped and the club becomes known as Yeovil Town FC.
1946 - Alec Stock is appointed Yeovil Town player-manager.
1949 - Yeovil Town beat Sunderland 2-1 in the FA Cup Fourth Round, before losing 8-0 at Manchester United in the Fifth Round.
1951-60
1955 - Yeovil Town won the Southern League and the Southern League Cup Final.
1958 - Yeovil Town signed defender Len Harris - who would go on to make a post-War record of 691 appearances for the Glovers.
1960 - Yeovil Town signed striker Dave Taylor - who would go on to become a Glovers' legend.
1961-70
1962 - Dennis Coughlin scored in eight consecutive matches for Yeovil Town.
1963 - Yeovil Town enjoyed FA Cup giant-killing victories over Southend United and Crystal Palace.
1964 - Yeovil Town won the Southern League.
1967 - Ron Saunders was appointed Yeovil Town manager.
1969 - Dave Taylor finished his Yeovil Town career with 285 goals in 436 appearances - a post-War scoring record.
1971-80
1971 - Yeovil Town won the Southern Premier League, reached the FA Cup Third Round where they lost to Arsenal, and reached the Semi-Finals of the FA Trophy.
1972 - Yeovil Town were beaten for the second season running in the Semi-Finals of the FA Trophy.
1976 - Yeovil Town finished runners-up to Wimbledon in the Southern Premier League.
1979 - Yeovil Town joined the first-ever Alliance Premier League.
1980 - Yeovil Town lost 3-0 to Norwich City in the FA Cup Third Round.
1981-90
1985 - Yeovil Town were relegated from the Gola League, despite Ian Botham's efforts when he played for the Glovers.
1988 - Yeovil Town reached the FA Cup Third Round where they lost 3-0 to QPR, but they won the Vauxhall-Opel Premier League.
1989 - Guy Whittingham was a scoring sensation for Yeovil Town.
1990 - Yeovil Town left Huish and moved to Huish Park.
1991-2000
1991 - Yeovil Town beat Walsall in a replay in the FA Cup First Round.
1992 - Yeovil Town enjoyed FA Cup giant-killing victories over Torquay United and Hereford United.
1993 - Yeovil Town played host to Arsenal in the FA Cup Third Round and lost 3-1.
1995 - Yeovil Town were relegated from the GM Vauxhall Conference.
1997 - Yeovil Town won the ICIS Premier League.
1999 - Yeovil Town reached the FA Cup Third Round before losing to Cardiff City in a replay.
2000 - Yeovil Town enjoyed FA Cup giant-killing victories over Colchester United and Blackpool.
2001-present day
2001 - Yeovil Town finished runners-up in the Nationwide Conference. Gary Johnson was appointed manager.
2002 - Yeovil Town won the FA Umbro Trophy at Villa Park.
2003 - Yeovil Town clinched the Nationwide Conference championship.
