Taunton Town 3, Redditch United 1
TAUNTON gained their third win in five days with this victory over higher-placed Redditch in the Dr Martens League on Wednesday (April 30) night.
But it was much closer than the scoreline suggests with United threatening to snatch a point towards the end.
But Gary Fisher made the game safe for Taunton by scoring in the 85th minute, sheer determination bringing him his seventh goal during a three-match winning run.
Taunton took the lead in the eighth minute when Pete Sheppard turned in a fierce drive across goal by Tom Kelly.
Antony Lynch made it 2-0 just before half time with a neatly taken goal before Simon Hollis pulled back a goal for United in the 79th minute.
Taunton wind up their season with a home game against Bedworth United in the Dr Martens League tomorrow (Saturday, May 3 at 3pm).
