SOMERSET residents who are watching TV without a licence have been warned it is only a matter of time before they get caught.
TV Licensing spokeswoman Sara Powell warned evaders face fines of up to £1,000.
She added: "The ideal time for our enquiry officers to visit unlicensed addresses is during peak viewing times, when we know people will be watching television - for example, during popular soaps or major sporting events.
"The message is clear - buy a licence or risk getting caught. We would much rather people pay for their licence than face a trip to court."
Last year in the South-West, TV Licensing caught more than 15,000 evaders.
