A SIBERIAN Husky cross waiting for a new home at The Blue Cross animal adoption centre in Tiverton is helping raise funds for his own upkeep on a sponsored dog walk on Sunday, May 4.
Woody and his Blue Cross handler Sarah Friendship hope to walk at least 10 miles when they join other dog walkers for the event along Tiverton canal.
Sarah said: "Woody has been waiting patiently for a new home for over five months. By completing this walk he can help raise funds for his own upkeep.
"He'll love taking part as Huskies have loads of energy and love nothing more than walking great distances. We also hope that this event might lead to Woody finding a new home."
Every year the sponsored dog walk raises much needed funds for The Blue Cross animal centre in Tiverton, helping it to care for hundreds of unwanted dogs and cats until they can be found loving new homes.
If anyone would like to sponsor Woody, offer him a new home or take part in the sponsored walk on Sunday May 4, please contact The Blue Cross, Chiltern Gate, Bickleigh, Tiverton, or call 01884-855291.
