Resident Peter Pengilly says he has had "no satisfaction" from the police and has contacted Kerrier district council on numerous occasions only to be be told "it is a police matter."

After being pushed from pillar to post over the situation, the residents have now drawn up a petition.

"I even wrote a letter to Candy Atherton who told me it was a council matter," Mr Pengilly said. "I think someone should get off their behinds and do something about it."

Pictures taken by Mr Pengilly show the devastation left by the youths who have pulled down a wall and damaged trees.

"We have young lads here every night from 6pm to 11pm, sometimes later, playing football, skateboarding, drinking and pulling out the plants, breaking trees, and if you say anything "they are only playing."

You might like to live here and see how long you would stand for it."

Petition

The petition, being circulated to police and Kerrier district council, lists an array of incidents involving youths creating disturbances over the past three years, which the residents hope will prompt action by the authorities.

Mr Pengilly pointed out that if the car park had not been given a smooth surface and had remained an area of rough land, the youths on skateboards, bikes and other vehicles would not have been drawn there.
