Prince Charles will be visiting the Sunrise Centre, at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, in Truro, on Wednesday May 7.
The visit comes as the Sunrise Centre celebrates its first year and presents an opportunity to mark the success of the partnership between the NHS and charitable organisations and the tremendous fundraising efforts of the Sunrise Appeal.
After touring the Sunrise Centre, Prince Charles will join guests at a reception where he will have an opportunity to meet some of those who have supported the Sunrise Appeal.
As it would have been impossible to invite everyone who has made a contribution to fundraising, guests have been invited through a random draw from the many thousands of letters held at the hospital and also from the records at BBC Radio Cornwall.
Trust chairman Angela Alderman said: "The prince's visit is a wonderful opportunity for us to focus on, and thank, some of the many people who have been involved in helping the new clinical oncology department to become the centre of excellence that we now have.
"Already large numbers of patients have benefited from being treated locally and the Sunrise Centre is fast becoming acknowledged for its forward-thinking developments in the treatment of cancer."
The Prince of Wales will also visit Trelissick and Truro College where he will open a new unit.
