The Coast to Coast Trail, which runs from Devoran to Portreath and is managed by Cornwall county council, was over-run with scouts on the weekend as around 400 participants gathered to walk sections of the 11 mile trail.
Part of the Mineral Tramway explores some of Cornwall's spectacular mining heartland. An annual two day event, the Scouts set up camp at Tomperrow, near Truro. Scout leaders set up checkpoints and gave prizes to the fastest team and those collecting the most litter.
Tony Garvin, Scout leader and assistant ranger for the county council's environment and heritage service said: "The Coast to Coast Trail is an excellent way to see the countryside and it also encourages youngsters to exercise and appreciate what's around them.'
The event was organised by Mid Cornwall Scouts.
