EXTENSIVE studies and preparations were rewarded with two performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream by children at Par's Roselyon School. All Year Five and Six pupils had been studying the play, its plot, characters and themes for six months, and rehearsing since January.
They also went to see the Shakespeare 4 Kidz production of at the Hall For Cornwall in February.
Drama teacher Mrs Ros McKeown adapted the script directly from the original into partly modern and partly Shakespearian dialogue and most of the costumes were made by parent Linda Smith, based on Mrs McKeown's designs.
The school struggled to find an ass' head for the production, but acquired one in the nick of time from a local fancy dress company.
The production was sponsored by Wovina of Bodmin and Dedicated to Dance of St Austell.
