LONG awaited plans for new outdoor leisure facilities in Ilminster may finally reach fruition this summer.
Revised plans for a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Swanmead School, have been submitted for planning permission and for a cash bid from the National Lottery New Opportunities Fund (Nof).
South Somerset district manager for Adult Learning and Leisure, John Wright, is spearheading the development, along with Swanmead headteacher Paul Birbeck.
Mr Wright said he was optimistic of getting the go-ahead for the MUGA in the summer months of this year: "We have a better design now," he said. "It will suit both the school and the local community very well."
