SOMERSET firefighters will not be taking industrial action over an insurance row - not yet, at least.
The discovery last month - in the wake of the London bombings - that some firefighters' insurance policies would not pay out to the families of crews who are killed responding to terrorist incidents, led unions to threaten industrial action.
A ballot of the Somerset FBU's 560 members saw an overwhelming nine-to-one vote in favour of action if the issue was not addressed - with a deadline for a resolution set for August 4.
But that day has now come and gone, and industrial action has been put on hold while further talks take place.
