Wendron maintained top spot in Division Three West thanks to an eight wicket home win over Redruth Seconds. Redruth were dismissed for just 89 thanks to an excellent spell of bowling from Anthony Harris who took 6 for 14. Craig Martin gave good support taking 3 for 14. Wendron knocked off the runs for the loss of two wickets. Nigel Harris made 32 not out, Mark Mitchell 23 and Ian Carpenter 21. Second placed Hayle seconds kept up the pressure, taking maximum points, with a seven wicket home win over Mount Ambrose. On Saturday Wendron travel to Camborne Seconds and Hayle have a potentially tough game at Gulval.

Redruth 89 (C Johnson 40; A Harris 6-14, C Martin 3-16), Wendron 95-2 (N Harris 32no, M Mitchell 23, I Carpenter 21). Wendron (20 points) beat Redruth (three) by eight wickets.

In Division Five Porthleven gained a crucial home win against co-leaders Chacewater. Chacewater were restricted to 181-6 thanks mainly to Tom Armstrong's unbeaten 72. Adam Young took 3 for 35 and Dean Parish 2 for 64. Dean Bray then made 69 and JJ Walker 35. Colin Lee then made a valuable 30 not out to secure victory. The dropping of a couple of bowling bonus points cost Porthleven top spot, however. The other morning joint leaders, Perranporth seconds, secured maximum points in the six wicket win over Mount Ambrose seconds. There's another crunch game for Porthleven on Saturday when they visit Perranporth while Chacewater host Leedstown seconds.

Chacewater 181-6 (T Armstrong 72no, J Mailing 40; A Young 3-35, D Parish 2-64), Porthleven 185-4 (D Bray 69, J Walker 35, C Lee 30no; S Richards 2-47). Porthleven (18 points) beat Chacewater (six) by six wickets.

Mullion maintained fourth spot after hammering St Buryan at Garro Lane by nine wickets. St Buryan made 103 all out with Philip Harding taking 4 for 7 and David Fowles 4 for 34. It was a good comeback after the St Buryan openers Dave Wynter (31) and Hudson (30) had put on 47. Mullion were taken to victory by an unbroken second wicket partnership of 68 between Paul Markcrow and Matthew Jilbert. Markcrow made 45 not out and Jilbert 38 not out. Earlier James Pearson had made 17. On Saturday Mullion travel to Falmouth Thirds.

St Buryan 103 ( D Wynter 31, D Hudson 30; P Harding 4-7, D Fowles 4-34), Mullion 105-1 (P Markcrow 45no, M Jilbert 38no). Mullion (20 points) beat St Buryan (two points) by 9 wickets.

Helston, lacking some regulars, went down to a 94 run defeat at Leedstown. The home team made 197 with David Smitheram top scoring with 39. Stuart Pethick took 3 for 8, Peter Boyd 2 for 20 and r Boulton 2-24. Helston could only make 103 in reply. Steven Hosking made over half the total with 54 but received little support. David Smitheram completed a fine game with 3 for 17. Helston entertain Ludgvan Seconds on Saturday.

Leedstown 197 (D Smitheram 39, K Hosking 32, M Allen 32, T Poole 29; S Pethick 3-8, P Boyd 2-20, R Boulton 2-24), Helston 103 (S Hosking 54; D Smitheram 3-17, R Fleet 3-18, J Franklin 2-18). Leedstown (19 points) beat Helston (seven) by 94 runs.

There was a fine win for Porthleven seconds in Division Six. Gulval made 200 for 6 with Kevin Kelly taking 3 for 47 and Jan Oates 2 for 20. Kelly then unluckily just missed out on a century. He made 99 not out, sharing a match-winning partnership with Dan Morris who made 54 not out. Porthleven got home by seven wickets. Porthleven entertain Penzance Thirds on Saturday.

Gulval 200-6( S Eddy 71, P Viney 39no, M Eddy 35, T Pye 23; K Kelly 3-47, J Oates 2-20), Porthleven 203-3 (K Kelly 99no, D Morris 54no). Porthleven (18 points) beat Gulval (six) by seven wickets.

In Division 8, RAF St Mawgan conceded to Mullion Seconds while, sadly, it was a similar story on Sunday. Falmouth conceded their Jolly's Drinks Sunday Complementary Cup game, which was scheduled to be played at Garro Lane.
